DAY ONE: OFF-GRID ARRIVAL

Your adventure begins in San Jose – you will meet your wild women group in the lobby of the Best Western Hotel at 6 am. Your guide will pick you and your gear up here and lead you onward to San Jeronimo.

Upon arrival in the rural mountain landscapes of San Jeronimo, you will connect with the local community for the start of a coffee tour that is sure to inspire a serious appreciation for your cup of joe! A Costa Rican lunch will follow in the homestead of a local family.

Well-fed and caffeinated, you’re ready to set out on your 5km hike on a rural dirt road with 400m/1300ft elevation gain. It is a steep and challenging hike, but you have this in the bag, and you’ll be doing it alongside your new wild women family!

At the end of the trail is home for the evening, an off grid ecolodge that will welcome you with a retreat introduction and lodge tour before you settle into your room.

Your first yoga class, Restorative Yoga and Meditation, will take place from 5:30-6:30 with dinner and time to relax as the perfect bookend for your day.

DAY TWO: EXPLORING THE SAN MIGUEL VALLEY

Breathe into the morning with a Sunrise Flow Yoga from 6-7 am before being treated to a delicious breakfast to start your day off right.

You and your group have two options for activities today:

San Miguel Valley hike. Hike to the big rock of the Valley, and down a ridge to view the amazing San Miguel Waterfall and then back up to a hut for a snack and water refill. You’ll be hiking for 11km with 700m/2300ft elevation gain. The trail is steep to start and mellows out as you reach your destination.

Guided nature walk option: You embark on a 4km hike with a certified tropical biologist that will enrich your experience with bird watching, animal spotting, plant identification and everything in between.

Whichever you choose, it will be followed by a delicious lunch at the lodge and an afternoon of free time to explore, relax by the river, swim in the waterfall pool, shower, relax in hammocks, read, and do whatever else your heart desires.

Cap off an epic day with restorative yoga and meditation, some dinner and free time before bed.

DAY THREE: CHAKRA ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND

After an early start of yoga and breakfast, be ready to leave for your nature playground at 8:30 so you can take full advantage of this adventure day!

You will find yourself at the top of a waterfall with the opportunity to both participate in rappelling lessons and to climb some trees.

With the rush from the morning’s activities you will enjoy lunch and an afternoon of free time before your restorative yoga and meditation.

Settle down for some dinner with the group followed by a briefing on tomorrow‘s hike! You’ll want to head to bed early tonight as the next day’s adventure is a big one.

DAY FOUR: TIGER ROCK SUMMIT

You have a 5 am start today with your day packs and summit-conquering attitude ready to go.

Your Tiger Rock Summit is a 12 km hike with a 700m elevation gain. Depending on the fitness level of the group and how much time you’d like to take at the top, the adventure can take anywhere from 3.5 to 7 hours.

Any fitness level can tackle this summit! An incredible 360-degree panorama of the surrounding mountains awaits you at the top. Once there, you will stop for lunch and time to take in the views.

A recovery shake and stretch will signal your arrival back at the lodge before free time and dinner. As it will be your last night at this ecolodge, celebrate the warmth and wonder of this place around a campfire with a bottle of wine.

DAY FIVE: FROM MOUNTAIN TO BEACH

After yoga and breakfast this morning, take some time to pack your things and get ready to hike back to San Jeronimo for your community service project before boarding the bus.

You’ll drive for two hours to the town of Sierpe where you will enjoy a one-hour boat ride through the magnificent mangroves before reaching La Paloma Lodge just outside Drake’s Bay.

You have this afternoon free to explore the surroundings, the beach, flat water river kayak, or to simply relax!

DAY SIX: ISLA DEL CANO MARINE RESERVE

Twenty kilometres offshore from Drake Bay is the Caño Island Biological Marine Reserve. This island’s virgin waters are some of the bluest in the country, and are home to a spectacular variety of stunning marine flora and fauna as well as some gorgeous coral reefs. The Reserve is also home to a huge variety of fish, whales and sharks. The complete two kilometre perimeter of the Island is protected from commercial fishing and any other type of harvesting.

This 300-hectare piece of land was formerly a burial ground dating back to the pre-Columbian era of the Diquis tribal people.

Prepare to snorkel with fantastic underwater visibility as you may find yourself swimming with sea turtles, dolphins, rays, barracudas, and even white tip sharks.

DAY SEVEN: CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK

Rise and shine to gear up for a short boat ride from the Lodge to the National Park entrance.

Cited by National Geographic as “one of the most biologically intense places on earth”, Corcovado protects one of the most significant stands of virgin rainforest in Central America. Being among the trees here can be an overwhelming experience; you’ll be shocked by the amount of life that exists and marvel at the relationships between all living creatures on the Osa Peninsula.

Trails begin along pristine beaches, wind through deep rainforest, and follow riverbeds to magnificent waterfalls and swimming holes. You’ll spend 3.5 hours this morning hiking in search of birds and animals before stopping for a picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, a shorter hike will bring you to a waterfall where you may take a refreshing swim in the cool water. Boas, scarlet macaws, reptiles, and monkeys are all creatures you have a chance of glimpsing.

DAY EIGHT: GOODBYES

After breakfast, you will be shuttled by boat to Drake Beach where you board a land transport to your short chartered flight back to San José. Your International flights can be booked anytime after 1 pm.
