DAY ONE: ARRIVALS

Arrive at our private retreat centre, Lakeshore Cottages, anytime Friday afternoon between 12 pm and 4 pm. Check out BC Ferry Schedules for details! Upon docking, you may drive to Lakeshore Cottages (instructions will be provided) or arrange a pickup through WWE.

Get settled! We’ll introduce ourselves and eat a prepared gourmet dinner. We’ll then ground ourselves with Qi Gong. Qi Gong works to wake up the body to bring you in sync with your true flow. Experience renewal and rejuvenation from the inside out.

DAY TWO: YOGA AND HIKING

After breakfast, we will ease into our morning with a Hatha yoga practice. This class is for all levels to help stretch, strengthen and move with ease. Attention is paid to alignment and developing an understanding of the postures, how they build on each other and their effects on the body, mind and spirit. You will leave the class feeling refreshed and warmed up for the activities of the day ahead.

We’ll take an excursion to the Ganges Market at lunchtime to nourish our senses with the beautiful creations of local artists and to enjoy the delicious offerings of farms and food available. We will have a lunch and break at the market.

After lunch we’ll take a guided hike to Mount Erskine! This 4 km trek is mainly under the coverage of trees on a well-kept trail. Arriving at the peak, we will be awed by the spectacular views overlooking the islands and ocean channel below connecting with both the majesty of nature and of ourselves!

In the evening, we’ll have a gourmet dinner, and there will be plenty of time to rest, explore, and connect with others. Find the time to do whatever your body, heart, and soul are calling for.

DAY THREE: KAYAK, SUP OR WHALE WATCH

After breakfast you will be participating in your pre-selected sessions.

Group 1: A Sea Kayaking trip

This kayak adventure is great for both intermediate and beginner paddlers who want to try kayaking. We’ll have fun playing with the basics, including learning the parts of the kayak and paddle, strokes for turning, stopping, moving sideways and how to conserve energy for a full day of paddling. You’ll learn how to get in & out of the boat, what to do if you tip over, and use of the kayak rudder. Then we’ll head out for a 7 hour Marine Park Tour to allow you to explore the natural wonders of the Gulf Islands.

Group 2: A Paddle Board (SUP) Class and a Whale Watching Tour

Today in a 1.5 hour SUP class you will learn the basics of stand up paddle boarding and have the practice time to solidify some of the fundamental skills. We’ll cover ocean safety, proper stance and form, and paddle techniques. All equipment is included: a PFD, board, paddle, and a leash.

We will eat our gourmet lunches on a beautiful beach where you can swim or simply relax.

In the afternoon we’ll embark on a 4.5 hour whale watching boat tour! You’ll learn first-hand about endangered species and ecosystems. Sightings can include orca whales, humpback whales, minke whales, grey whales, fin whales, harbour seals, porpoise, sea lions and bald eagles!

We’ll come together in the evening for dinner.

DAY FOUR: KAYAK, SUP OR WHALE WATCH

After breakfast you will be participating in your pre-selected sessions.

Group 1: A Paddle Board (SUP) Class and a Whale Watching Tour

Group 2: A Sea Kayaking trip

In the evening we will enjoy a delicious meal and then gather for a Yang Yin Yoga class. Yang Yin is the perfect blend of effort and ease. Spend the first part of class moving and gathering in your focus and concentration, so you can then explore surrendering to the moment in the second half. Yin yoga uses long held supported postures to nourish and lengthen connective tissues in the body and explore mediation techniques to help ride the waves of fluctuations of the mind.

DAY FIVE: COMING TOGETHER CLOSING CIRCLE 

After breakfast we will prepare to travel and enjoy some inspiring dynamic movement and dance; We’ll use this creative flow to help weave our experiences back into our lives at home. A delicious lunch will be served, followed by time for a closing circle.  Each person will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and intentions on what they will be taking away from the journey and how they will integrate their experience into their life.
