Mariana Simas was born and raised in Brazil. She is 26 years old and a graduate from Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro in Geography and Environmental Science. She speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. Mariana used to work in a Sustainability Institute and in Environmental Science education in Brazil before she moved to Chile four years ago. This is her third season working at Torres del Paine NP and her second season working as a guide. She is knowledgeable about geology, the history of native people, and the beautiful fauna in the Park. Mariana has certifications for Wilderness First Responder, Mountaineering, and Scuba Diver Rescuer. She loves nature, trekking, snowboarding, scuba diving and rock climbing. Mariana loves everything about Patagonia and for her, this is the best place she has ever been.
