DAY ONE: WELCOME TO ATHENS

You will meet your wild women group at the Dia Noche Cafe at 5 pm at the end of Pier 6 in the Alimos Marina in Athens for a welcome snack and orientation. This night is spent on the boat in Alimos Marina, so you can get familiarized with the ship and enjoy the Plaka nightlife, setting sail the next morning.

DAY TWO: SET SAIL FOR EPIDHAVOROS

We sail this morning for Epidhavoros. We cruise out of Athens harbour, and if the winds cooperate, hoist the sails and get up some speed. Epidhavoros is a small quaint village where we will have free time to explore. Our Captain will offer suggestions about what to see–like one of the best-preserved Greek theatres and classical architecture in existence! The unparalleled acoustics are still favoured by musicians for concerts to this day. In the last three years, they recently discovered another smaller theatre under a hill of orange and lemon trees overlooking the harbour.

Return to the boat when you’re done your shore excursions, and go for dinner as a group at a lovely waterfront taverna!

DAY THREE: POROS-BOUND

Onwards to Poros, we sail, the town built on the rocky slopes of the island. As you approach, you will say to yourself, “this is a Greek island!” It’s one of the most beautiful approaches in Greece.

Again, once docked, the day is yours to explore the island. Take the Captain’s suggestions and walk to a lovely bay for a swim, explore centuries-old ruins, rent a scooter, visit the marine academy, relax at a taverna, or browse the beautiful markets of fresh fruits and veggies. This is also a great island for shopping!

Return to the boat when you’re done your shore excursions and perhaps go to dinner as a group.

DAY FOUR: CLIFFSIDE SUNSET PARTY

Sail to Hydra – an artist’s’ hideout where not a car can be seen on the whole island! Optional onshore activities today could include taking a donkey ride to the top of the island for a spectacular view or wander the local markets and waterfront.

Later you can join the nightly sunset party at “Hydronetta” on the side of the cliffs, listen to classical music, sip a cocktail, and applaud the sun making its daily dip into the sea! Hydra is a fantastic 2-day island if you want to spend some more time soaking up the atmosphere!

Return to the boat when you’re done your shore excursions and head to dinner as a group.

DAY FIVE: METHANA PENINSULA

Onwards to Methana! Captain’s choice of Vathi – a small fishing village with beautiful tavernas and beaches nearby or the main port in town with mineral waters and cafes.

Optional onshore activities are hiking the Kameni Volcano or enjoying a spa day! Captain Valerie can help arrange a van to take you from Vathi to Kameni for a short 30-minute hike up the volcano for those who wish to take in the spectacular views. Or maybe you want to relax at the spa in Methana town, where there are amazing mineral waters from the volcano to soak in.

There is a beautiful family-run taverna at the base of the Volcano, where a group dinner can also be arranged. This whole area is truly special and virtually unknown.

Return to the boat when you’re done your shore excursions and perhaps go to dinner as a group.

DAY SIX: SAIL TO AEGINA

This is the island of pistachios and octopus with a well-protected anchorage. Optional onshore activities include: hiring a scooter or taxi to visit the Agia Marina harbour for lunch and then take a hike up to the Temple of Aphaia, one of the finest Doric Temples remaining in all of the Greek Iles.

Return to the boat when you’re done your shore excursions and head to dinner as a group!

DAY SEVEN: BACK TO THE BEGINNING

Today’s activities will be based on the group’s desires – sail to a beautiful deserted island for swimming and sunning or spend the morning in Aegina doing some sightseeing before sailing back to Athens, ready to bring your adventures home.

You return to Alimos Marina around 4 or 5PM. Cabs can be arranged from the marina to anywhere in Athens by the Captain. Plan flights for the late evening, preferably after 8 PM (due to unpredictable weather influencing the arrival time to the marina and traffic to the airport) or consider staying longer to see more of the incredible Greek culture!

About the Yacht

A 50 foot Cyclades yacht will be your home away from home in Greece. It features 5 cabins (1 with bunk beds and 3 with double beds), a kitchen, a saloon and a nav station.

There are 2 bathrooms, which each include a sink, electric toilet, and the whole bathroom is the shower. Water use onboard is somewhat limited.

The yacht has air conditioning and fans. Hairdryers and other electrical appliances will not work on the boat unless we are in a marina with shore power. We do have 12v charging capabilities for cell phones, iPods, camera’s etc. Most taverna owners allow our guests “to charge” while we are having dinner.
