Explore the Northwest landscapes and wildlife while cycling, hiking, and paddling on our San Juan Islands Multisport Adventure!

The San Juan Islands are one of the best places in the world to see the magnificent Orcas in the wild. You may also spot humpbacks, minkes, gray whales, steller sea lions, and many other species of wildlife.

Discover Orcas island, referred to by the locals as the “gem of the San Juans.” Surrounded by lush forests, pristine lakes, and amazing outdoor possibilities!

We’ll hike Jakles Lagoon Trail across rolling meadows and forests to Mount Finlayson summit where we’ll be rewarded by views of the Juan de Fuca straight and lofty Olympic Peaks.

We’ll take to the sea on a two-day overnight sea kayaking adventure paddling past the coastlines, watching whales, exploring the spectacular bluffs, sandy beaches, and tide pools.

DAY ONE: WASHINGTON WELCOME

Welcome to Washington!

We’ll meet at the Memorial Circle Friday Harbor for a brief orientation with your wild woman guide and then transfer to Roche Harbor for a picnic lunch.

After lunch, we take to the sea for a short kayak session on the water!

Tonight we come together for dinner at our camp for the evening prepared by our local guides. We’ll be staying in luxury yurts around a lake encircled by forest!

  • Activity: Kayak (approx 3 hours)

 

DAY TWO: ORCAS ISLAND

Up early with breakfast to go, today we discover Orcas island, referred to by the locals as the “gem of the San Juans.” We’ll be surrounded by lush forests, pristine lakes, and amazing outdoor possibilities! Inter-island ferry to Orcas Island to explore this area cycling.

Picnic lunch at Mount Constitution with its breathtaking views and a swim in the mountain lakes.

Dinner together on Orcas Island (pizza and beer at a local brewery or return to San Juan Island for an alternate meal plan). We’ll have an evening briefing to prepare for the next day, pre-packing dry bags for an overnight kayak tour!

DAY THREE: SEA KAYAKING

Day one of two days sea kayaking! We’ll have an early breakfast at Lakedale. Once we check out of our cabins, we’ll transfer to Roche Harbor.

Our lunch will be on Gossip or another outer island beach. We’ll arrive at camp later afternoon for snacks and a briefing. From here, we’ll hike to Turn Point Lighthouse overlooking the Haro straights from the western tip of Stuart Island.

We’ll return for dinner at 7 pm.

DAY FOUR: SEA KAYAKING

We let the paddle transport us again for day two of sea kayaking!

DAY FIVE: WHALE WATCHING

We’ll start the day early this morning with breakfast at the lodge. We’ll transfer from Friday Harbor for a morning of whale watching! The San Juan Islands are the best place in the world to see Orcas in the wild, and the MV Kestrel is the best vehicle on the water.

In the afternoon, we’ll have lunch and explore this area with a visit to a lavender farm and a local winery. We’ll transfer to Jakle’s lagoon trailhead and hike Mount Finlayson.

Tonight we dine together on South Beach for our final meal featuring a catered local seasonal meal (likely seafood) with a regional wine pairing.

DAY SIX: ONWARDS

Our last day together! Today you have a free day to explore a little more on your own or choose to rest.

Prepared lunch and flex time in Friday Harbor, where you can check out the local shops.

We’ll have a final briefing and say our goodbyes late afternoon. Drop off at Memorial Circle Friday Harbor for connecting ferries and flights. For guests staying longer, a shuttle can be arranged.
