There’s no denying that anticipation is everything. Knowing that there’s a confirmed adventure ahead is comforting, daunting and inspiring all at once. It adds shape to a year, purpose, a learning curve and motivation to buy some new trail runners!
Our top 2025 Wild Women adventures are trending and tracking all over the place! I’m not surprised to see the Galápagos Islands, Croatia and Scotland on the coveted list. I’ve walked the Camino and circled around Egypt back in 2011—I get the attraction there too. From the long legs of history that surround Spain’s fabled pilgrimage route to the pull of seeing ancient landmarks like the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx and Valley of the Kings, these destinations are shoo-ins. Same with Bali and Thailand—the chaos of the tuk-tuks and perfume of burning incense at the Buddhist shrines sinks into your memory quickly. In both countries, relaxation is easy to find in a warm jasmine oil body treatment or Thai massage. It serves as a reminder that trips can be jam-packed but also jammed with self-care and reflection.
I’ve been on most of Wild Women’s most hiking-centric trips and was totally surprised by the sheer beauty of the Scotland Hiking Adventure. The hiking routes on the Isle of Skye are legendary for good reason. I can’t say I’ve ever hiked in the company of calling cuckoo birds! They were a mainstay in my grandmother’s living room as she had a cuckoo clock—but in the wild, the distinct hollow echo of their call is as memorable as the stories swapped over Ploughman’s sandwiches slathered in Branston pickle chutney.
Croatia is everything unexpected. The unearthly national parks, twee marinas palm-lined promenades and abandoned villages will fill your senses to the brim. You hike in two national parks along a coastline dotted with more than 1,200 islands and islets on our Croatia Active Adventure. And, If you’re a foodie, this adventure is a nine-day fantasy of savoury things and scenery. The family-run tavernas and generational recipes served with a generous ladle and smile are enormous in size and flavor. When was the last time you had lunch at an alpine hut where everything is delivered on foot or by mule? Croatia’s coastline is never-ending, so the catch of the day is always hyperlocal! Think marinated sardines, scampi and grilled sea bass with customary plates of prosciutto, salami, capers, olives and cheese to start. I still think about the lunch at Roki’s on Vis Island. The stewed fall-off-the-bone lamb and veal are baked in cauldrons covered in hot ash and served with local white, red and rose wines around the stoked fire. This is a merry place with a quirky trophy collection and snoozing dogs.
As a birder, there’s no greater draw than the biodiversity of the Galápagos Islands—the namesake penguin, mockingbird, flycatcher, and Darwin’s finches can be seen nowhere else in the world. It’s a truly pinch-me place as the encounters with wildlife and volcanic landscapes are something straight out of the pages of a fiction book.
Wild Women’s Top 15 Time of Your Life Adventures in 2025 offer ANY kind of experience you desire. I’m personally looking forward to experiencing the Amazon jungle and mangroves that fringe the Madre de Dios River and Lake Sandoval next fall on the Peru Explorer. Three nights are spent tuned into the powerful all natural soundtrack that surrounds Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción. This ecolodge is a brand new addition to the Wild Women program, and it’s backed by the protected wild space of the Tambopata National Reserve. Inakaterra was built on the grounds of a former cacao and rubber plantation, and the rustic luxury of the stylish stilted wooden cabañas will make for an awesome basecamp to explore the nearby clay licks, wetlands, jungle trails and nocturnal life by riverboat. I’m anxious to cross the nerve-jangling Inkaterra Canopy Walkway—it’s an innovative 344-meter (1,135-foot) network of seven ecologically sensitive hanging suspension bridges strung between eight treetop observation platforms above the forest floor. Talk about a bird’s-eye-view! This region is home to red-bellied macaws, hoatzins (a very peculiar-looking tropical bird) and white-throated toucans.
Whether your decision of where to travel in 2025 is based on the destination or the activity, our adventures revolve around hiking or kayaking or a taste of everything from biking, birding and snorkelling to self-care or cooking classes. There are some really neat opportunities, like participating in a private traditional Japanese tea ceremony where our women learn how to make Japanese matcha. On the Bhutan Hiking Adventure, our community visits the Pema Choling Nunnery, home to 100 nuns aged 12 to 70.
On our Ultimate Morocco itinerary, you can take in a Sahara sunset from the best seat in the house, a camel! This trip was popular in 2024, too—there’s nothing quite like glamping in the world’s largest hot desert with the drumbeat of local musicians filling the silence.
Just a week ago, I was thrilled to see Maria from Beit Sitti prominently featured on a Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted series (available on National Geographic and Disney+). The episode “A Royal Taste of Jordan” was a flavour face-off between Chef Ramsay and Maria. Fun fact: On our Wild Women Jordan Explorer itinerary, our group takes part in a cooking class and dinner at Beit Sitti (which translates to “in my grandmother’s house” in Arabic). Maria and her two entrepreneurial sisters started the cooking school and will show you how to integrate the “Big Guns” trio (tahini, za’atar and sumac) into your kitchen.
Our adventures are carefully curated to introduce you to determined local women like Maria and Peru’s Awamaki weavers and female porters on the Inca Trail Trek To Machu Picchu. Our Wild Women guides are energetic experts and passionate ambassadors for their country. They love sharing their big backyard—especially when it comes to paddling in the Sea of Cortez that surrounds Espiritu Santo Island National Park on our Baja Kayaking Adventure.
Whether you are seeking super active days, a Wild at Heart kinda time, an educational experience, a physical challenge, reflective space or the simple joy of being in the company of women doing something unexpected like bamboo rafting or seeing a blue-footed booby for the first time, we want you to join us.
