Meet Disnarda

A native of Cusco, Disnarda Aragon Choque is immensely proud of her Inca cultural heritage. She grew up speaking Spanish as well as Quechua, the language of the Incas and of the majority of the people who live in the mountains of southern Peru. From an early age, she enjoyed spending time in the mountains, in close contact with the natural environment. A graduate of the rigorous Tourism program at Cusco’s San Antonio Abad University, Disnarda has been working as a professional guide since 2002. She enjoys introducing visitors to the natural wonders of the Andes, as well as encouraging a cultural mixing between visitors and her Andean neighbors.

Totally amazing! Doing Inca Trail was one of the best experiences of my life, a bit harder than I thought it would be, but with the support of my wonderful group and of our guide Disnarda, I have made it, and I’m almost 74 yrs old!!!
Disnarda is unbelievable, with her you cannot go wrong, she is knowledgeable, her patience has no limits, and her contagious smile kept me going! So grateful for that.
I, honestly, CAN NOT STOP THINKING about this trip, the history, the places I have seen and the people of that beautiful country, magical!”

Meet Kyd

A lifelong horseback rider, Kyd Campbell now lives with her own herd in Peru. A world traveler, she thrives in epic landscapes and has found a home in the high Peruvian Andes. Guide, rancher, mother and teacher—and so much more!—Kyd lives to share precious and transformative experiences with other adventurers. Kyd takes people on journeys to little-visited places and has always worked with women’s empowerment groups and artisan collectives in remote locations. She has a deep connection to Peru’s rich culture.

Kyd has been working with the Andean locals along the route since 2013, allowing for great connections and cultural exchanges. She focuses on respect and rational training for her horses, allowing each animal to bring its personality and energy to the tours.

5 stars is not enough for Kyd and her team – 100 stars at least! They are absolutely extraordinary. I felt well cared for and safe. I would ride with Kyd anywhere. Her horses are superb. My experiences in the far communities were exemplary. I learned so much and felt humbled and awed by both the old and new. Kyd’s relationships with all our hosts and Paola’s deep connection to them made us feel more like family than tourists. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity – it was truly the trip of a lifetime. Thank you.”

Licensed cultural and trekking guide for women travel group in Bhutan, Chhimi Dema

Featured Guide

Meet Chhimi

Licensed as a cultural and trekking guide in Bhutan, Chhimi Dema has led treks in her country for more than 14 years. Like all our guides, Chhimi is a wild woman ready to take on any adventure. She’s particularly passionate about women’s empowerment. While guiding in Bhutan is a male-dominated profession, she thrives as a female guide and sets out to be the best she can be. Chhimi’s guiding philosophy embraces openness: she cultivates an environment where women can feel free to be themselves, share a love of the outdoors and make long-lasting friendships. Chhimi loves Bhutan, one of the most peaceful and beautiful lands in the world, and she can’t wait to share its wonders with you.

My first ever tour with anyone. The bar is now very high. Bhutan speaks for itself but our Guide, Chhimi, along with our driver Kuenzsang, made the trip into an unforgettable adventure. Both love their country and people and want us to love it as much. Chhimi’s knowledge and patience with us was incredible. Her interactions with all the people we met along the way enhanced our experience. She is a true treasure.”
