A time for Reflection, Celebration, and Your Boldest Adventure yet

Amid the frantic frenzy of this time of year, December is also a month designed for reflection. It’s time to contemplate and consider our goals, ambitions and wish lists. As the year comes to a close, it’s time to meditate and celebrate. How did you grow? What did you love the most? What moment moved you? Where do you want to go on your next adventure?

So, what’s new in the new year?

As a global leader in Women’s Adventure Travel, our Wild Women team reflects on the exact same questions. Where did we go? Where are we going? We launched several new destinations and itineraries in 2024 in Japan, Mexico and Morocco. Some of our trips saw the addition of new twists thanks to meaningful feedback from our Wild Women community. We are always evaluating our trips to ensure they offer a balance of WOW and WILD. This fall, we added some more punch to our Patagonia Hiking Adventure. It now includes a visit to Isla Magdalena to see the Magellanic penguin colony, a day spent tracking pumas in Torres del Paine National Park and a BBQ at a working sheep ranch.

In 2025, Wild Women Expeditions is offering shiny new adventures in Costa Rica, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mongolia and small ship expeditions Out Of The Northwest Passage, Baffin Island & Greenland and a first-ever Circumnavigation Of Iceland. On the 10-day sail from cosmo Reykjavik, the ship travels north to the isle of Grímsey, which sits (barely!) on the Arctic Circle. Grimsey’s location on the famed latitude line at 66° 33’ North earns Iceland its title as one of the world’s eight Arctic nations.

We also listened very closely when we asked how we could improve our existing trips. You asked for more time to enjoy the marvel of the Dead Sea on our Jordan Explorer trip, and we nodded along and totally agreed. Now, after lunch at a cool boutique resto called The Precious (it’s woman-owned!) Wild Women have the entire afternoon to soak and float in the purifying Dead Sea.

On our Peru Explorer Adventure, we elevated our Amazon experience with a three-night stay at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción. Backed by the protected wild space of the Tambopata National Reserve, Inakaterra was built on the grounds of a former cacao and rubber plantation, and the stilted wooden cabañas look like a sweet sleep! The low-impact architectural design of Inkaterra embraces traditional Indigenous style, and we can’t wait to hear what women have to say about these rainforest rooms with a view! This property has been designated one of the National Geographic Society’s Unique Lodges of the World!

Something old, something new…

In Canada, we’ve added time to explore the Norse settlement at L’anse aux Meadows National Historic Site and a deeper Indigenous element to our Newfoundland Active Adventure itinerary in partnership with Spirit Horse Therapeutic Arts. In 2025, Wild Women will participate in a simple rattle making workshop and spend an afternoon with two female Mi’kmaq guides who share time-steeped stories and local cultural insights.

Our classic Wild at Heart trips like Ultimate Morocco, Jordan Explorer and Peru Explorer are as popular as ever for their soft adventure and meaningful cultural connections. Other signature Wild Women faves like the Baja Kayaking Adventure and Northern Thailand Active Adventure continue to attract women seeking a mini sea kayaking expedition and something wildly different like bamboo rafting and ethical elephant encounters.

Speaking of something old and something new, the Grand Egypt Museum (GEM) in Cairo is now fully open. It is one of the largest and most modern museums in the world, with over 100,000 artifacts, including over 4,500 from the tomb of King Tutankhamun. Did you know that GEM is a sparkling part of our Ultimate Egypt journey?

Something borrowed…

When you travel with Wild Women, you will have the opportunity to share all the thrills and flavours of a country with like-minded women. And if you need to borrow something—whether it’s an extra layer, a USB charger or a protein bar, your travel companions are at your side. Travel creates a rare unity—whether you witness a breaching whale together, summit Scotland’s Ben Nevis or see a star fall out of the skies from the rooftop of the Feynan Ecolodge in Jordan. Sharing firsts, falling stars, BandAids, laughs and encouragement are the foundation of our Wild Women community.

Something TRUE-blue…

Since 1991, our Wild Women community has naturally grown, bringing together hikers, horse lovers, birdwatchers, photographers, kayakers, artists, and many others. This vibrant community is made even richer with the unique talents, skills, niche interests, dreams, knowledge and life experience of each member. Whether you can do a handstand, embroider, recite Jane Austen, speak fluent Spanish, make sourdough bread, name constellations, identify wild edibles or play the ukulele, we see you and need you in our lovely mix!

Whether you are inexplicably drawn to the spiritual nature of hiking the Inca Trail or want to ride a Paso horse through Peru’s Sacred Valley, you’ll be in very good company. You may even meet a Wild Woman who becomes your go-to travel companion over a cup of tea on a small ship or in the back of a Land Cruiser on a game drive. We’ve seen beautiful friendships unfold on our trips. And we’re talking the true-blue kind.

Maybe you’ll join us with your daughter, mother, sister, best friend, or partner. There’s no greater gift than exploring the world together!
