Rwanda’s Rainforests & Mountain Gorillas
On our Kenya and Rwanda Safari Adventure, the excitement begins in Rwanda, a country known for its lush landscapes, vibrant culture, and extraordinary wildlife experiences. Journey into the ancient rainforests of Nyungwe National Park for chimpanzee trekking and canopy walks high above the forest floor, then travel north to the misty Virunga Mountains for the unforgettable highlight of gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund has teams in the field every single day — protecting mountain gorillas, supporting the critically endangered Grauer’s gorilla, and running research and community programs across Rwanda and the DRC. When we’re in Rwanda together, we visit their work directly.
Along the way, experience Rwanda’s rich culture through tea plantation walks, conservation centers, and time exploring the welcoming capital city of Kigali.
Kenya and Rwanda Safari
Kenya’s Iconic Safari Landscapes
From Rwanda, your safari continues into the wild landscapes of Kenya, beginning with the legendary Maasai Mara, where sweeping savannahs and abundant wildlife create one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Explore the Mara on game drives and connect with local Maasai communities before heading north to Laikipia, where walking safaris, camel treks, and cultural encounters offer a deeper connection to the land.
From a rhino orphanage that has been rebuilding black and white rhino populations since the 1970s to the remote wilderness of Tsavo, where orphaned elephants learn to be wild again — conservation isn’t a backdrop on this journey, it’s the through-line. At Ithumba Sanctuary, you’ll watch rescued elephants feed, play, and gather at waterholes in one of the most moving wildlife experiences Kenya offers. We also support the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, funding the kind of on-the-ground work that is quietly, steadily making a difference.
Across both countries, this immersive Kenya and Rwanda Safari Adventure blends wildlife encounters, meaningful cultural experiences, and inspiring conservation stories. From rainforest primates to the Big Five of the savannah, every day brings new moments of discovery in some of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes.
