Where Serenity Meets the Sacred
Join us on our new Haida Gwaii Sailing Adventure through the untamed beauty of Haida Gwaii! Discover one of Canada’s most raw and sacred landscapes. Off British Columbia’s remote northwest coast, this storm-swept archipelago—often called “Canada’s Galápagos”—is where mossy rainforests, rugged cliffs, and misty peaks meet the open Pacific in a wild fusion of nature and spirit. Every wave and trail tells a story of resilience and timeless beauty.
As we glide through protected waters, you’ll explore ancient Haida villages, footprint-free beaches, and forests that feel frozen in time. With over 200 remote islands to discover, each day invites adventure—and each night ends beneath a sky full of stars.
Explore “Canada’s Galápagos”
The Heart of Haida Gwaii
Home to rare species, ancient rainforests, and healing plants found nowhere else on Earth, Haida Gwaii is a living, breathing wonder.
We’ll wander beneath towering Sitka spruce, where the weathered poles and longhouse remains of ancient Haida villages still whisper wisdom in the wind.
With over 500 sacred sites woven across these islands—and the full protection of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site—this isn’t just a journey. It’s a deep, full-body reconnection with nature, spirit, and the wild part of yourself that’s been waiting to rise.

Anchored Under the Stars
Your Haida Gwaii Sailing Adventure kicks off in the morning—bags packed, spirit ready. After checking out of your hotel, you’ll be greeted by our friendly local guide and shuttle driver who will escort you to the Alliford Bay ferry terminal. From there, enjoy a short and scenic 25-minute ferry crossing to Graham Island, the cultural heart of Haida Gwaii.
Our first stop? The stunning Haida Heritage Centre at Ḵay Llnagaay. This award-winning cultural hub, set against the dramatic Pacific coastline, brings the stories, art, and traditions of the Haida Nation vividly to life.
After an inspiring guided tour, we’ll enjoy a traditional Haida meal at Keenawaii’s Kitchen, hosted by a local Haida family in Skidegate—a soulful, home-cooked experience you won’t forget. After lunch, stretch your legs with a walk around Spirit Lake, a peaceful forest trail steeped in Haida legend. From there, we make our way to Moresby Camp, where your floating home awaits. Keep your eyes peeled for black bears and Sitka deer!

The Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve
Supernatural Sailing
The Haida people have lived on these islands since time immemorial, shaping—and being shaped by—this wild, weathered land for over 12,000 years. As we sail into the heart of Gwaii Haanas, we’re not just exploring the coastline—we’re stepping into living history.
Guided by Haida Watchmen, we’ll be welcomed to ancestral village sites like T’aanuu Llnagaay (Tanu), K’uuna Llnagaay (Skedans), and SGang Gwaay—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, amid towering totem poles and moss-covered longhouse remains, the stories of this land come alive. These guardians share their culture with heart and wisdom, offering a rare window into a deep and enduring connection between people and place.
Weather permitting, we may visit Hlk’yah GawGa (Windy Bay) on Lyell Island, home to the first monumental pole raised in over a century. This 42-foot Legacy Pole, carved by artist Jaalen Edenshaw, marks the historic 2013 anniversary of the Gwaii Haanas Agreement, where the Haida Nation and Canadian government committed to protecting these sacred lands and waters.
There may also be a chance to visit G̱andll K’in Gwaay.yaay (Hotspring Island)—where nature is slowly healing after a 2012 earthquake drained its geothermal pools. Now, the hot springs are making a gentle comeback, bubbling with quiet resilience—just like this land.
Most of our time is spent along the remote eastern and southern shores of Moresby Island, deep within Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site. Expect beautiful sandy beaches, boggy plateaus, and lowland rainforests, all wrapped in a kind of stillness that feels truly ancient.
Floating through K’iid Xyangs K’iidaay (Burnaby Narrows)—one of the world’s richest intertidal zones—we’ll witness a living mosaic of sea stars, urchins, crabs, and colourful marine life that defies belief. At low tide, it’s like drifting over a natural aquarium.
Keep your eyes open and your binoculars close—this place teems with life. We’ll watch for humpbacks, Steller sea lions, porpoises, and maybe even a passing orca. With warm offshore currents and nutrient-rich waters, Haida Gwaii is a sanctuary for marine species of all kinds.
And for bird lovers? This is heaven. Home to 1.5 million seabirds, the archipelago offers sightings of tufted puffins, black oystercatchers, rhinoceros auklets, and long-distance pelagic species. Raptors like bald eagles and peregrine falcons soar overhead, while unique island subspecies flit through ancient canopies. It’s a birder’s dream set against one of the most powerful landscapes on Earth.
Each day, we head ashore or explore by Zodiac, accompanied by our onboard naturalist, who will help identify coastal plants, marine life, and wildlife. If you’re keen, you can even help keep a species list for the trip!
Every evening, we’ll anchor in a new, secluded bay—no crowds, no light pollution, just the soft lull of the Pacific and the thrill of knowing that tomorrow brings even more wonder.
