At some point, we’ve all made a pledge—spoken or silent. Maybe as Girl Guides, we promised to be our best, to stay true to ourselves, our beliefs, and our communities. Maybe as hikers and campers, we’ve lived by the “leave no trace” principles: plan ahead, tread lightly, respect wildlife, respect each other.
The Wild Women Way is its own kind of pledge. We move through the world with purpose—deeply and lightly. We travel and connect with thoughtfulness. We listen. We support. We honour the fact that each of us brings unique challenges, beliefs, and strengths to the trail. And when we come together? That strength multiplies.
We ARE the group
We cheer each other on—through the anticipation, the nerves, the wins, and the wobbles. Every day brings something new, and we share it all. We know that the vibe of the group is something we each help create, so we show up with openness and do our part to make everyone feel welcome.
Every Wild Women group is one of a kind. You might meet kindred spirits. You might not. But no matter what, you’ll be seen, heard, and respected—and you’ll offer that same respect in return.
We care for each other. We celebrate what connects us and what makes us different. Discrimination of any kind—homophobia, racism, classism, or oppression—has no place here.
We know the limits of “comfort”
Let’s be real—growth can feel uncomfortable. Every Wild Woman has a different edge when it comes to hiking, trying new foods, or sleeping somewhere totally out of the norm. That edge shifts with experience, skill, and spirit. And we all have different skill sets and skill levels! But when we face challenges in a supportive group? We expand. That stretch? It’s where the magic happens.
And if something’s truly beyond our limits, choosing to opt out isn’t giving up—it’s a bold, wise move that supports both you and the group. Adventure is about knowing yourself, rising when you’re ready, and resting when you need to.
We stick together
We experience our adventures together, for both safety and camaraderie. We’re only as fast as the slowest woman, and we’re okay with that! We like to balance “getting somewhere” with “being somewhere,” and only split groups up with the permission of the guides and a clear plan of when and where to reunite.
We’re flexible
Expedition travel is ever-changing—and as Wild Women, we embrace the unknown with open hearts. We trust our experienced guides to make the best decisions based on conditions, and we trust that any changes will be shared with care and clarity.
