Awaken Your Wild
Our new Svalbard Explorer Expedition is like stepping into a dream at the top of the world—a place where wild still means wild.
Just 1,200 km from the North Pole, Svalbard feels like nature’s final frontier.
Towering glaciers, electric-blue icebergs, and snow-dusted peaks frame a world where polar bears roam free, walrus colonies nap on the ice, and the air carries the hush of ancient stillness.
You’ll journey with a small crew of adventurous women aboard a cozy expedition ship designed for discovery—think Zodiac landings on remote shores and awe-filled moments under Arctic skies. Each day, expert guides lead you into the heart of Svalbard’s wild beauty, bringing the land to life through immersive hikes rich with stories of soaring seabirds, ancient rock formations, and delicate alpine blooms.
You’ll uncover the raw, storied history and geology of this remote wilderness, and head out on excursions to places that leave a mark on your soul.
Go Beyond Ordinary—Soul Meets Svalbard
Step Into the Spell of Svalbard
Dubbed the “wildlife capital of the Arctic,” Svalbard offers front-row seats to the raw, untamed drama of Arctic life—under the glow of the midnight sun.
You’ll sail aboard the Ocean Explorer, a beloved expedition ship known for its cozy charm, welcoming atmosphere, and the kind of meaningful connections that turn fellow travelers into lifelong friends.

Day 3-9
Spitsbergen
Exploring Spitsbergen
You’ll cruise around this magical island on a constant search for wildlife. Your expedition will cover western Spitsbergen as well as stunning fjords to the north. From polar flora to immense glaciers, the natural landscape here is just as varied as the wildlife.
Each expedition presents new opportunities and different weather and ice conditions. Consequently, there is no fixed itinerary. However, some of the places we may visit include the 14th of July Glacier, Smeerenburg, Alkefjellet and the Hinlopen Strait. The destinations we visit will be selected for optimum wildlife viewing with an appreciation of the history and geology of Spitsbergen.
The island offers multiple opportunities for wildlife photography. Since most of Svalbard’s Arctic ecosystem is uninhabited and well-protected, this remote archipelago is one of the world’s best places to spot polar bears against stunning natural backdrops of mountains and ice. The towering cliffs of Alkefjellet provide homes to thousands of Brünnich’s guillemots (thick-billed murres). Coming across a walrus haul-out is a moment you won’t soon forget. Get a chance to witness the intimate gatherings of giant pinnipeds as they haul out together on small coastal strips. On our Svalbard expedition, we’re not just getting you close to nature—we’re taking you into it. Picture this: boots on Arctic tundra, fresh polar air in your lungs, and a landscape so wild and untouched it practically hums with possibility.
We’ll get you off the ship and onto land as much as possible—with small-group hikes tailored to what you’re craving. Want to take it slow and soak it all in? There’s a contemplative group for that. Into photography, medium treks, or heart-pumping hikes? We’ve got those too. You choose your pace, your path, your kind of adventure.
Every hike is interpretive, meaning our guides will bring the landscape to life—from the tiniest alpine flower to soaring seabirds and the rock formations that tell stories millions of years old. And yes, we’ll be on the lookout for polar wildlife every step of the way.
When you return to the ship, we’ll gather to share what we saw, what we felt, and the moments that took our breath away. Because in Svalbard, discovery isn’t just what you see—it’s what awakens inside you.
If you’re itching to experience a more intimate view from the water, you can book the sea kayaking or paddling excursion adventure options.
In Spitsbergen, there is no shortage of natural beauty. The tundra can be surprisingly colorful in summer, with wildflowers bursting for a taste of
sunshine.
Each day, you’ll see something interesting, whether it is an ever-changing gallery of spectacular icebergs, a polar bear resting between hunts, or an abandoned historical site from centuries ago.Included Meals

Imagine gliding across the surface of a bay in the presence of icebergs and glaciers. Our Sea Kayaking program on our Svalbard Explorer Expedition is a great way to intimately explore your surroundings. A small group of kayakers will plan to go out multiple times per voyage as an alternative to shore landings or Zodiac cruises. The number of opportunities to kayak is weather dependent, and will be conducted only during calm conditions. Prior kayaking experience is required, and you must be able to do a wet exit to participate. Beginners interested in kayaking should consider participating in the Paddling Excursion.
*Price based on 2026 departure date.
Paddling Excursion

Small groups of passengers will be taken out on calm days, with our expert guides always present to provide instruction and help you connect with the polar sea. Two groups of 10 will be pre-booked, and once successfully completed, any subsequent outings will be offered via lottery on board.

The Ship & Cabins
The Ocean Explorer
Ocean Explorer, the newest addition to our fleet, is modern, elegant and purpose-built for polar exploration. The 138-passenger vessel has been designed with the latest in expedition ship technology. One of the ship’s key features is the ULSTEIN X-BOW®, a marine engineering innovation that ensures a comfortable and smooth sailing experience thanks to the inverted bow. The two-story, light-filled library is located at the bow, which introduces a welcome airiness to the expedition ship. Spacious cabins feature a modern, bespoke Scandinavian design; almost all have verandas. Guests can relax and find comfort in the spacious gym, sauna with large windows, and two outdoor Jacuzzis. Ocean Explorer features ample outdoor viewing areas and multi-height outer decks, which are ideal for long-view photography and wildlife viewing. The vessel has a fleet of 15 Zodiacs that enable guests to get off the ship quickly and safely for off-ship adventures. In addition to the well-appointed and spacious public areas, Ocean Explorer has an industry-leading mix of sustainability systems, including fuel-efficient Rolls Royce engines.

Meals on Board
On our Svalbard Explorer Expedition, if there is one constant on board, it is that you’ll enjoy delicious meals daily. While meal times may change due to landings and wildlife encounters, you’ll always be served three well-prepared meals per day. Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated by letting us know prior to your expedition. Breakfasts and lunches are normally served buffet style, while dinners are served plated. À la carte meals are made at the time of your order, allowing the chefs to prepare each dish to your individual needs, ensuring you receive top-quality meals during the course of your expedition.
Complimentary coffee, tea, cocoa and water stations are available around the clock, while soft drinks and juices are available during meals and when the bar is open—all included in the cost of your package.
Enjoy free beer, standard wines, spirits, and cocktails during bar service hours and dinner as part of our new “Raise a Glass and Stay Connected Free” program.
