Feel the Spirit of Baja
This beginner-friendly Baja kayaking adventure in Mexico is a thrilling active adventure that includes one of the most spectacular sea-kayaking destinations in North America, known as the “Galápagos of Mexico” for its diverse marine ecology. We return to nature as our paddles transport us to hidden lagoons, spectacular bays and sea caves. We take to the sea to snorkel with sea lion pups, bathe in the glorious Baja sun, watch manta rays leap from the water and visit the curious gray whales of Puerto Chale.
Lose Yourself in Beauty
A Slice of Paradise
Our adventure begins with a night of canyon camping under a star-studded sky with nearby natural hot springs to soak in. We then journey to La Paz with its beauty and charm, voyaging around the coast of Espiritu Santo Island, where life teems beneath the water and around us as we kayak.
This was an awesome trip, words can’t describe how I felt seeing the whales, especially the mamas and babies, so close you could almost touch them. Our guides Monica and Nishma were amazing! This was the perfect escape from an Iowa winter!”

Get into the Mexican Groove
Today we meet our Wild Women guides and group in front of Hotel El Encanto in San Jose Del Cabo. Frigate Bird Colony
For the Birds
This morning, we slip into our kayaks for one last, precious morning paddle to a frigatebird colony situated in a former pearl farm. It’s quite a sight to observe these sinister, thieving birds with their hooked beak and distinct forked tails cruising the thermals. After having a solid bird’s eye view of the colony, we jump into a motorboat, speed back to La Paz for a 50-minute ride and check into our hotel. There is time to unwind, wash the sand and sun from our skin and/or stroll the promenade before gathering for dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Observe Majestic Gray Whales

The anticipation of being in the presence of 49-foot (15 m), 80,000 pound (36,000 kg) whales and their calves is the finger-crossed hope of our three-hour boat ride today. Their curiosity is as great as ours, and the whales will often swim parallel to our tiny vessels for a closer look.
On our return trip to La Paz, we stop for lunch and to stretch our legs. Tonight is our final dinner together and the conversation is guaranteed to be full of cherished reflections and tall whale tail tales!
